I was reading some things in the HP forum and someone said something about adding ram to your dedicated video card thru bios to make it 256. I have just purchased the compaq V5000z and was looking to upgrade the ram to 1 gig. Is it possible to allow 128 of that to goto my dedicated video card. If so how does one find information about doing this.

I don't think it is adjustable for video cards without have "Hypermemory". That is adjustable through the bios. You video card should specify if it has hyper or shared memory.

Yes, you can specify Video Memory to 128MB in bios. The ATI Video card driver assigns upto 256MB( double what you assign in bios) when required.

if you assign 128MB, it always takes 128MB out of your total memory whether it is required or not, but additional 128MB( 128+128) is dynamically assigned by driver when it seems required.
