Hi there, I have been having a constant problem with my windows 7 on my HP dv6t. It would just freeze up for no absolute reason. It could be on idle or I could be doing something. Sometimes it would freeze up within minutes of startup or it could go on for days. I am looking to set the RAM voltage and frequency manually rather than leaving it on auto. As HP has the Insyde Bios having limited options, what can I do about it? Is there a way to hack it?

Other than that, has anybody else encountered this random freezing? Any solution to be suggested??
    Thanks

I've had a few random lock-ups on my DV6T with Windows 7, but they seem to have stopped after flashing the machine to the latest BIOS release (F.13).

As for adjusting the voltages on your RAM I doubt you're going to be able to pull it off, perhaps with some sort of software overclocking utility but it would be risky.

Hmm, I could give it a try. I really dont wish to mess with my bios, but I am running out of options. All of Microsoft's hotfix related to windows 7 freezing has not helped me. I have been trying out several solutions that has worked out for others.

Could I know where did you get that version of the update? As i see on the HP website, the latest update that they have for my model is F.1C which is already installed in my computer

Which generation of dv6 you got?
The F.13 is for the 3rd generation dv6-3xxx.
So yours is of an older generation

My bad, I should have mentioned that earlier. I have the DV6t-2xxx. I just updated it to F.1D. Hopefully that would fix the error. Only time would tell now
    Thanks
