    Hey guys,

Looking to get my dad a new laptop. I have no experience with AMD processors but did some reading and it appears that the lower end 6z has some pretty crappy benchmark.

Will this notebook be able to handle Flash, Youtube, or other HD video streaming? No need for gaming! In terms of longevity, will it last him at least 3+ years? Staple has a deal for the ENVY 6-1010us::

15.6-Inch Screen, AMD Radeon HD 7500G Discrete-Class graphics
    2.6GHz/2.1GHz AMD Dual-Core A6-4455M Accelerated Processor
    4GB DDR3 SDRAM (1 DIMM), 500GB 5400RPM hard drive

    Any thoughts input?

Don't let the benchmarks fool you. There should be no problems using this notebook for flash, youtube, HD video streaming, music listening, multiple-tab web browsing, email, general office productivity and even gaming (with low graphics settings, I know you said its not for gaming but I wanted to mention it).

    My personal recommendations:

    1. Add an additional 4GB DDR3 RAM module (for dual channel performance)
    2. Buy the ENVY Sleebook 6z from HP and wait for a coupon (less expensive)
    3. Upgrade to the AMD Quad-Core A10-4655M with 7600G (better APU performance)
    4. Add the optional backlit keyboard and Bluetooth (BT wireless mouse, wireless headphones, smartphone connectivity, accessories, etc.)
    5. Seriously consider an SSD as it will give the most noticeable performance boost and "snappiness" (Samsung 830, Crucial M4, Plextor M5 Pro)

Check out The Ultimate AMD Trinity Notebook List for reviews and more information on the HP ENVY Sleekbook 6z if you're interested.
