Hello, I am new to the forum and in need of help on a laptop decision.
I am leaving for college next year and thus I am i need of versatile laptop for studying/gaming/chatting/etc.

I basically narrowed my decision down to the zt3000 and the zx5000 and am torn between the two. Basically, do you guys have any information on how well the zt3000's Pentium M performs against the zx5000? Also, any zx5000 users know approximately how many hours of battery life I can expect?

    Thanks A lot,
    Neil

I just the ze4610 from Circuit City. I like it alot so far. It has the Athlon XP-M 2500+ processor. $699 after rebates

I budgeted about $1,700 for a new laptop. I have a kicka** desktop, so I don't need a laptop with all the bells and whistles. With that said, I saw a Circuit City ad and went to check out the HP's and Toshiba's (I've owned Toshiba Satellite Pro's in the past and like them a lot). The Toshiba Celeron model (#A45S120)is exactly the same price as an HP ze4610(with an AMD Athlon and 32 more megs on the ATI video card).

My decision was easy...I opted for the HP. As a matter of fact, I bought 2 of the HP ze4610's because, first, great price/great features and, secondly, I gave one of them to my daughter, who just started college.

Scanned around the net via Google. . . seems battery life is around 2-3 hrs. with no mention of thermals (which is probably a good thing).

Sorry I went off track in prior post, but thought you might have been interested in a less costly alternative.

    All the best.

    Thanks for all the input.

Deep down inside i want the zx5000 but I am still unsure about the battery life/heat output. You guys think a 12 cell battery will help me squeeze a 4-5 hour life on the zx5000, or should i just invest in a nuclear reactor?

    thanks
    Neil
