    Alternative sellers of HP AC Adapters?

    Hi, all. I've lost the AC acapter for my Compaq/Presario V2000. A lappy I've really come to love (but that's another story).

    I looked on HP's site and found an a replacement adapter for $79.99.

    I don't think I could get $79.99 for the V2000 on eBay! :rolleyes:

    Are there any reputable dealers out there for power adapters for older notebooks? At a more reasonable price? If no, I'll hand my money over to HP, but it seems kind of steep to me. Maybe I'm cheap, tho.

    Get the model number of the AC adapter and search around. You can find the stuff on ebay as well sometimes.

    Thanks. It's been so long since I've had to get anything like this that I'd completely forgotten about googling a part number.

    And it worked out. Found a couple for $26 (seemed a little too good to be true) and a couple at $42. Bought a $42 one.
