Anyone else notice that the mouse pad gets a bit hot to the touch after a while on the dv6000t. I notice it more when I have the laptop running with lid closed when I walk away from it and then come back to a very toasty laptop. This is on a solid surface with the 12v battery propping it an inch off the table or so.

If the pc is not in standby or off, I'd say not to close the lid at all, as the keyboard area is dissipating lots of the internal heat. Its not good for the components as well as for the display itself to be above that heat source.
You can always change the power settings to switch off the display after a certain time and save your screen hours like that...
    Cheers

Thats a good point. I never thought that heat comes out from my keyboard. I like to close the laptop and put it in a safe spot when I'm not using it but its downloading torrents or something. I never noticed this before with my Compaq laptop from a couple years ago. I guess I'll have to keep the lid open now.
Has anyone else noticed that sometimes it doesn't come back after the screen shuts off. I open it it up and the screen is black and kinda lit up but no key or anthing wakes it up.
