I placed my order June 28, 2006 and I can't wait to receive my new baby.
I was lucky to place my order the day before HP raised the prices (last Wednesday). I think I got a great deal with no only the cheaper prices (around $70 cheaper) but also the $100 instant rebate, the APP discount (around $90.00) and the $50.00 mail-in-rebate.
The followings are the specifications of my new toy.

    HP DV2000T
    Windows XP Professional
Intel Core Duo Processor T2500 (2.0GHz)
    14.1 WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    1.0 GB DDR2 SDRAM
100 GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive
    LightScribe Super Multi 8X DVD+/-RW w/Double Layer
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network w/BLUETOOTH
    Others: Remote Control

I believe HP prices are very competitive right now compare to other brands. This is a pretty decent system for an excellent price.
Right now is the time to buy before all the offers expire so you guys better hurry up. hahaha
Anyways, I just wanted to share this with all of you. I can't wait for that baby to arrive at my door.

You'll love it! I'm really enjoying mine!

The lightscribe is also pretty cool. Just burned a DVD with a photo on it, for some wedding photos of my nephew, and it looks MUCH nicer then my Sharpie scribbles... (hard to believe, huh???)

By the way, I find the speakers and sound quality a pretty big improvement on the dv2k over my previous dv1000t. Nice, unexpected bonus!

This is really one of the nicest looking laptops for the money... yeah, Sony may have some equal, or even nicer looking laptops, but you'll pay through the nose.

Already taken mine on a business trip, got stuck at Denver airport, and loved using it to watch DVD's while I waited for my connecting flight!

    You won't be disappointed!
