I was pricing these two models, and I noticed that if I bought a similarly equipped DV6000T I could purchase a dock and a 19" LCD monitor for the price of a DV9000T. Other than having a slightly less powerful GPU (Go 7400 vs. 7600) the models would be almost identical. I'm looking for a portable desktop replacement and this seems like the best solution. Any thoughts? Thanks

The gpu difference is more then slightly. 7400 has 128 dedicated and 128 shared and only 64 memory bandwidth while the 7600 has 256 deticated with 128 mem bandwidth). I'd go wit the DV9000T since hooking your laptop to an lcd and using an external keyboard will get annoying,

Well, the 7400 isn't slightly less powerful than the 7600. It's about half of what the 7600 is. That, and the 17" monitor, account for the price difference. If you are not going to move the laptop around much, if any, than the 17" would make a little more sense I think. Less extra stuff to buy, and you can always take that massive 17" laptop somewhere if you need to. You cannot really do that with a 19" LCD... ;)
