What do you means you try before outside the hood?

So the only solution will be the filter?

Cut one side off a box and you have the exact same thing

The "best" solution would have been to get the non-glossy display (if it was available). However, some cheap cardboard box with strategic cuts will also work reasonably well, i think.

BTW, ignore what other people say - necessity is the mother of invention! I think you did a fine job with it. Particularly given that it helps reduce blooming you get with the outside sun.

    Hello,
after few week i didn't really find a solution...
The pc hood of before seem working only inside!

    I found this :

PC Shade Sun Shade for 17" Widescreen PCS-36510-XL B&H
This solution look working only for my terrasse,
but not if i am not in my place...

Filtre pour écran d'ordinateur portable - Canopia
( Sorry french link, but with the image is easy to understand)
it should be the product :
FILTRE PROTECTION ECRAN DE PORTABLE 17"
the nice thing is something i can remove easy.

Do you have any advice please?
    Thank!

The second one might just be big enough. I don't have the exact dimensions of the screen itself but judging from laptop dimensions on HP's site it should be okay. Not sure though, best to measure yourself.

The box idea sounds solid and your hood in the photo looks like it would work nicely.

P.S. I'm in the library all the time, so my preference is workign indoors.
