I looked at it today at Mediamarkt, Wien 21...together with Envy 13. Beautiful colors, contrast and bright the Envy 13, Envy 15 looks poor in comparison. Look the video of the Envy 14 (link in the HP Owners Lounge here).

forget to buy there, Envy 13 € 1699 (available in Germany for € 899 *) and Envy 15 € 1899 (?), Mediamarkt has only a part of the products on their homepage.
*) HP homepage Germany had € 999 a few days ago, now back to € 1699 for Envy 13.
Envy 14 prices in Germany starting at € 1199 at internet dealers and some have it on stock already, list price is € 1299. Anyway the better option if size is ok for somebody. If processor speed is no question Envy 13 is a good chioce, includes 2 batteries, display is better then newest version of MBP 13" (seen both today or yesterday) and if an excellent display is no question a lot of cheaper notebooks are available. Envy 15 for me is not worth the money, display is good but far away from Envy 13 or 14.

Do you mean to say that the display for the Envy 13 or Envy 14 is better than the display for the Envy 15?

I have not used the Envy 14, but I have played around quite a bit with the Envy 13 and the 2010 MacbookPro 15" and I would say that the display on my Envy 15 (glossy, full HD LED brightview) is much better than the MBP or the Envy 13. It is significantly higher resolution (1920x1080), which is great for watching high definition video and 3D games.

Perhaps you were looking at the matte version display or a laptop with the screen dimmed down?

Of course the MBP 15" has an excellent screen, better than the 13". My disappointment about the ENVY 15 matches with a test in notebookcheck: Display NOT bright, poor contrast and colors. Btw it was a model without full-Hd resolution, I suppose the other better model with high resolution is not offered in Austria/Germany.
I would prefer a matte display but not a single one of excellant quality is available between 11,6" and 14". Excellent means: Bright (>230nit), contrast >1:400 and good color range, near sRGB. (eg Envy 13 has 327 nit, 1:555) with the 2 exceptions MBP and Vaio Z I mentioned earlier.
