    Any Compaq Presario C500 series users here?

    The Compaq Presario C500 appears to sell very well, but I don't see much talk about them. With a memory upgrade, they perform quite well for a budget laptop.

    Although 2 issues I've had are:

    1. Headphone jack is noisy. Sounds like electrical interference (not a regular background hiss) and varies with system activity. Bearable when listening to music, but too annoying when watching movies.

    2. Can anyone turn on AAM to quiet the clicks of the stock Hitachi 5K160 hard drive? I ran Hitachi Feature Tools to enable AAM (Automatic acoustic management), but it says AAM is not supported. First time I've encountered this with a Hitachi drive.
