Will HP be releasing beta drivers for HP notebooks? Especially the new dv-series such as dv5t?

Not sure new drivers, but for the most part, the windows vista drivers should work in windows 7.

I've tried it and all drivers install. :) Some of them you need to install in Windows Vista emulation mode but they all work!

It should! I ran Win7 on my former DV2404ca (Build 6956 & 7000) and it worked AMAZINGLY well.

Note: Some drivers you'll still need (just use the appropriate 32/64-bit Vista drivers).
Also Archive you data; especially your recovery CD/DVD because if you don't like Win7 you'll want to bring back your unit ot factory shipment settings.

Win7 ran much more responsive in ALL tasks on the DV2404ca (AMD 1.7Ghz TK-53 Athlon X2 cpu, 2.5GB RAM, 160HDD, and 6150GeForce video chip set to 128MB in BIOS).

It allows you to use your fingerprint reader to log into windows without additional software. Open up the start menu and type in bio, you should see biometric devices. This allows you to register your info to log into your computer.

I tried windows seven on my Hp pavilion DV4-1242tx laptop. Most of the things work fine except the Intel chipset driver couldn't install. I tried to run as administrator but it didn't work. The other thing is the touch buttons. They work but the the visa 64bit driver from Hp doesn't work at all. The mute button in around 10 minutes interval makes sound. I tried Microsoft-Intel touch button software but when I touch the volume buttons the volume indicator appears but but it also opens a blank excel document - one document for each touch.

All drivers installed with Windows 7 here. The only one came up missing was the base system which was my card reader. I got that as soon as I slid it in. If you need them just get them from HP as Vista x86 or x64 drivers, which ever 7 download you got.

I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook DV9924ca, I installed Windows 7 Ultimate RC 1 x64 (Build 7100) all went well, the drivers were all installed via Windows Update.

Until Windows 7 BSOD on the notebook when a SD flash memory card was inserted. I'm assuming HP needs to specialize the drivers for Windows 7 still, like the correct drivers were installed, but ya dunno what went wrong, went back to Vista Ultimate x64 for now.

Other then that it worked fine, probably would be still running it, if i hadn't BSOD from the SD card being inserted, ie. if i had never inserted one.
