I ordered a HP laptop on Wednesday. What I'm wondering can someone who bought a HP laptop recently give me some information on how long it takes them to ship their laptops? Now I know the estimated shipping date is October 10th, but I'm pretty sure that it will ship way before that date. So if you have an experience with a recently ordered HP please give me some details on how long it took them to ship the laptop.

Oh by the way, here's the specs to my new laptop.

Well, I see that you didn't get the Core 2 Duo T7200, if you had ordered it with it would take forever to ship, but since you didn't you should have it quick. HP usually ships very fast seeing as the machines are made in China anyways.

This should probably be moved to the HP forum. Anyway, HP typically gives a shipping date that is on the conservative side so that when it arrives early they look good and you are happy. Also, it gives them some breathing room. they will ship quicker if it is a preconfigured model as opposed to a custom build as you have done. That said, I ordered an Hp ZV6000 about a year ago and it actually came 1 day after the shipping date so it is certainly not always early.

I did order one of the C2D T7200's (2.0GHz, 4MB). I placed my order on the 16th, initially they said it would get delivered on the 23rd, that was pushed back to being shipped between Oct 3 and 14th. It shipped "today" (sept 29) and should arrive Monday or Tuesday (Oct 2-3). So it took about 2 weeks. I don't know whether that's average or if I'm just lucky.

Well, 2 weeks delivery time for T7200 sounds just about right. That's pretty much how long it took for mine to get here.
