Hi, just yesterday I purchase the HP DV6565CA from Staples/Bureau en Gros and when I turned on the system, the registered user was "demo". Is this suppose to happen? Cause I've never purchased a laptop from HP before. My previous laptop was from Acer and I was pretty sure it greeted me with a "agree to terms of use blah blah blah" page then asked for user etc etc etc.
If this is a demo system (it looks brand new, everything in the box is untouched so I doubt that it's a demo) then I could return it in 30 days for a new laptop of the same model. I've already purchased an additional 2 year warranty so I don't mind if it goes bonkers with the next 3 years, I just don't like the idea that there's a possibility that laptop has gone through the hands of some stranger out there (LMAOS, I act is if it's a bf).
But yeh, does anyone have any idea? Please respond soon, if it is a demo system I would have 28 days left to exchange it. I've already restored the system to factory settings and set my name as the user but I could still exchange it because it's a french operating system. At first I was gonna return it for OS alone but I thought it would help me improve my french, but if it is a demo system I might as well return it for an english operating system.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: For clarity.

Any new HP, or any untouched computer for that fact, should start with Vista finalizing installation and asking you to input a UserName and to configure the settings. It sounds like they gave you a display model. You should return it and get a new one.
