I'm shopping for a new laptop, and like the HP Pavilion line. I found this DV7-4295us, that has everything I want - Core i7-2630qm, 8GB RAM, 1 TB 5400rpm HDD, 17.3" display with decent graphics, 9-cell battery.

Anyone have experience with this model? Any reliability issues?

1 TB HDD in laptop form factor - wow! Hope it's reliable.

Ready to buy, just hoping for feedback from other owners.

    TIA

    Bob

I received one as a replacement for a dv7-4290 (Intel Chip Problem).
Have been quite happy with the 4295 and would say the 4295 is a great general purpose laptop. No reliability issues in the 2+ months I've had it.

How's the quality? Keyboard quality & feel? Does it have the aluminum or plastic covers?

It feels solid, easy to carry, with the 9cell it sits up in the back about a inch and a half, it helps with cooling. Mine has the aluminum cover and deck it has a nice feel to it. The keyboard is good enough but as I am a hunt and peck typist I do not know how it would feel to a touch typist. The keys are smooth to operate and depress easily.

Hope this helps ya :D if it had a backlit keyboard it would be Ideal for me
