Hello,
This thing been bothering me since i bought my dv6t (1366x768 model) a week ago. The screen has this little pinkish tint compared to any other display i have in home. I tried to take some pictures with my crappy camera, hopefully they're clear enough to show the tint:

I tried to convince the resale store that i bought the laptop from about the issue, but he insists that all dv6-60xx models suffer from this.
Anyway HP support assistant software shows that i still have 1 year warranty, so i wonder whether i should contact hp support and try to ask for a replacement, or believe the store guy and just live with it?

You should try calibrating the colors - but I don't really know how to do that, someone else here should.
My display (before I returned the dv6t) definitely wasn't great at reproducing colors, there were tints. -
Uh, if anything, the TV in the first picture shows a reddish tint :O
I haven't noticed it with mine. -
I think you mean windows color calibration tool, i did try it but it only made the tint worse.
That's due to my crappy cam, tv actually shows accurate colors but dv6t has this annoying reddish tint that's ruining eveything I'm trying to watch :-( -
You may have a bad CCFL in the display. RMA it.

I'm pretty sure the panel is WLED.
Go to the intel graphics card settings and tinker with the color options there. -
I will do that as a last resort since I'm not sure how returning works, I didn't order this laptop online.
So WLED panels usually come with red tints?
I did tinker with intel utility but i couldn't figure out what color should i reduce/increase to get rid of the reddish tint, none seem to make it better.
Edit: nvm, I reduced the red intensity and increased blue a bit and now its perfect thank you! -
No, WLED is usually blueish. But if it's WLED lit then there can't be a problem with CCFL because there is no CCFL in WLED displays.
But I'm glad to see you fixed the problem. -
Ah, there you go. I didn't know it's a LED display. Btw, my dv9000 came a little greenish by default, and it actually took an increase of red to correct it. As always, YMMV. Glad you got it sorted out.

I wonder why HP panels often don't come calibrated by default; even my brothers $150 acer netbook produced accurate colors without any tinkering.

Pink tint is a side affect of using viagra, I suggest laying off for a while.

Obvious troll is obvious.
-
Perhaps it's because most panels don't require calibration by the PC manufacturer...
Any one experiencing pink/reddish tint on their dv6t display?
