This looks like it could be the HP laptop I've been looking for as it's now available with backlit keyboard...I've been busy and didn't even notice it was released in May but I like that despite its thinner form factor, they still squeeze an optical drive in it.
I'm glad HP finally grew a brain and placed the speakers back on top where you can hear them properly and even give you a sub on the bottom!
Anyone have one or have any feedback!?!
Thanks!!

I have had the M6 for almost a month. It is an impressive computer. It is quick, cool and has great speakers.
My old computer was an Asus with a lower end Core 2 Duo so the i5 3210m is a huge improvement. The biggest concern I always have about a notebook is heat and fan noise. The m6 is delightfully quiet and the fan never gets loud. I am not a gamer so I use it for browsing, office, email and photos. However, one of the Windows Updates was > 100 Mb and the fan never roared like it did with my old Asus. I use the m6 on my lap and it never gets any greater than lukewarm. The bottom is plastic and seems thick which may help to insulate heat. The exhaust air gets lukewarm at most. I've been using it for a few hours straight and the CPU is at 48 C and the motherboard is at 47 C.
The screen looks great to me. Many here scoff at the idea of a 15.6" screen with this resolution but I don't have a problem at all. Again, I do nothing advanced so that maybe part of it. The keyboard is responsive and firm. The touchpad is the best I have ever used. Having said that, I still use a wireless mouse; just my preference.
If you any questions, I'll try to answer. -
Hey thanks for the feedback. I STILL have an old HP zv6130 that won't die (about 7-8 years old) and always liked the Probooks but they had terrible audio quality. I know laptops aren't hifi monsters but my old laptop actually sounds good and had great audio reviews way back when.
This was also the only reason I was considering Dell and Toshiba as they both have excellent audio options. I'm not a laptop gamer so decent audio and quick, cool and quiet operation like you is a concern for me... -

It's for the m6 with AMD processor so if you're looking at the Intel m6t-1000 it's not quite the same in terms of internal specs, but the chassis is the same. -
Cool thanks, didn't see that!
Any reviews for the HP M6 series?
