As it stands now I may end up getting one also around the Holiday's waiting till Windows 7 and also seeing what else will be out there in the 17 + range with HD 1080P.

I think it should have a more powerful graphics card-an Nvidia GTX 260M perhaps? 18 inches is more than a large enough form factor for the card.

Anybody have the recovery cds for this notebook? Or a place where I can download/torrent them? I really need them and don't want to have to wait for my copy to get here. I'd really appreaciate it if you could point me somewhere where I can get them.

Hi Piper... I'm interested in buying similar config. Do you have more discount coupons? Appriciate if you do...

- a sad fact.
I love my HDX18 and people are still buying them where they can find them.
HP apparently believes the dv8 is the replacement line for the HDX's, although there is a bit of controversy as to whether the top of the line dv8 is really a match for the last top of the line HDX's that were made. Chipwise, the dv8's use the new mobile core i7's and i5's.
Take a look at the dv8 owner's thread in the HP owner's lounge forum.
There has been no hint or squeak from HP as to whether there will ever be a continuation of the HDX line, so although some have their finger's crossed, there is currently no evidence to believe there ever will be.
Any thoughts on the HP HDX18t????
