XP should install just fine on a DV6000. You'll either need to disable SATA in the BIOS or slipstream SP2 into the install disk in order to be able to detect the hard drive.

If they're not already on SP2, the vendor sites for the individual hardware components would have the drivers for their own hardware. -

The steps to follow is pretty much the same as mentioned in the dvx500 installation guide except use the dv6000t drivers instead.
