I was very much disappointed with all the major notebook manufacturers coming out with X3100 graphics on Santa Rosa.
Some of the brands still use 4200RPM hard drives...... Hitachi has launched 200GB 7200RPM drives. Why can't these manufacturers include such HDDs?
    The prefect machine never comes.....

Why would they want to introduce 9500t with an X3100? If the new GPUs are not ready, wouldn't it have been better if they gave an option for Nvidia GO 7600?

Has anyone compared the X3100 to Nvida GO7600?
Would you prefer an X3100 over Nvidia GO 7600?
What are the limitations of the X3100?

Theyre probably trying to get rid of their excess stock of the drive and HP and others will release laptops with the new 8 series nvidia cards in a month when it officially gets released.

and no it wudnt be better cuz there are those who dont play games but just want an entertainment laptop or desktop replacement. the X3100 will probably give a slightly better battery life too so it doesnt hurt HP to widen consumers options. and the X3100 is not even close to the go7600, it is integrated so its limitations are in that it is merely meant to be used for light graphics and playing videos.

And this is also why the older dv9000t has stayed around on the CTO page, as it can still be had with a Go 7600 if needed.

The 8M series was released on May 9th

My guess is that HP is holding out until they can get enough stock of the 8M cards to fill the demand... I'm sure there are a lot of people waiting to get their paws on a new santa rosa, DX10 based system.

    I purchased a 6500t with the x3100 for 3 reasons:

    1) I dont think I'll be playing 3d games on my laptop
    2) I didnt want to wait another month (I know i'm impatient)
    3) I'd rather have the power savings (if there even is any)
    4) I dont have the need to play 3d games on the go

I admit if the option were there I would prob choose the nvidia card however in reality I will prob never use it as I'll play games on a desktop with 8800 series card. Hell I dont think I really need a webcam, mic, or fingerprint scanner but for some reason i chose those too :)

Don't forget to give us a review once you get it! I'm sure many of us would like to know how it performs after you put it through the paces. :D

The big question I have is which version of the 8400M are they going to use?

Damnit HP, release the 8400M already! I have to buy a laptop within the next two weeks, at the latest! If they don't release the card by then I'm screwed because I want santa rosa. HP is pissing me off. sorry for the short rant lol
