I'm very excited for a review, although I must admit I am disappointed with HP's sales in Canada - they make it nearly impossible to buy anything besides their consumer line notebooks.

On a side note, there also seems to be other Probooks in the works. The 6440b for instance, has similar specs to the 4420s, but looks more like the newer Elitebooks. Here's a bit of detail (hope you don't mind the Canadian page): http://h20386.www2.hp.com/CanadaStore/Product.aspx?pdetail=P94697

Yes, I hope reviews for this machine come out!

The only thing I am worried about is the trackpad

I stopped by London Drugs and they have a new HP tablet with what appears to be the same trackpad as the new Probooks, and I found it to be quite nice, a bit like the newer MBP touchpads.

After being very disappointed with Lenovo screen quality I am getting myself a Probook 5310 with anti glare screen. I don't need major speed just a good screen, decent keyboard, that's it. No gaming etc. I just hope that HP Probook has not too much of the usual HP bloatware ....

wow, very good looking machine, looks like they took some design styles from the envy with the touchpad and minimal buttons on the frame and keyboard. very nice. Not really an issue for me but it looks like the lid holds some finger prints pretty well, if I weren't getting the elitebook this would definitely be a top contender in my list.

the elite book also has some gloss on it I think ? On the 5310 it seems that it's mostly aluminum and some gloss only around the screen and keyboard ... are these Probooks ok quality ?

Which? The Probook 5310m received top ratings from most sites I visit.
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-HP-ProBook-5310m-Notebook.22965.0.html (87%)
    http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptop/hp-probook-5310m.aspx (4.5/5)
    http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/product/320893/review/probook_5310m.html (top 10)

Some of the even older models were pretty bad though.

They look nice but use crap res screens. If they had better screens, I'd try one out. Why in the world doesn't hp use higher res screen on the 15"?

The brushed/glossy look doesn't mix for me. I feel brushed/matte works better visually.

Anyone know if the schedule planner in BIOS can be flashed? I am a student and won't be needing it. Otherwise, I will have to settle for another laptop from another brand.
