I have had my laptop for about 9 months I think I might have to call HP up and talk them about my warranty

Not the best shot, but you can see a hair a little longer than 1/4" on my screen it has shifted from the bottom to where it is now so I know its loose.

No its not on the outside, its between the LCD and the light box. me. Im not sure if I should be laughing or be disgusted by a improperly sealed screen because I had a few "dead pixels" that would move around (actually dust particles in the screen). This time im annoyed... Warranty would cover this right?

Yes, the LCD screen was not sealed properly at the factory. This is an issue you must take up with HP. I had this same issue with my Gateway CX210X Tablet PC. I sent it in, and they replaced the whole screen!

I suggest you call them up explaining that there are dust particles under your LCD screen due to improper seal on the screen itself.

    Hope this helps =)

Yeah, I would call them up and explain that you feel you have a QC issue with your laptop. They should fix it if you simply tell them it wasn't sealed properly at the factory.

Print up that screenshot and maybe include a note pointing out the problem and throw it in the box with your laptop (when you send it in for repairs) for the techs to see. Sometimes the support techs in India don't communicate the problem very well to the repair techs that make the repairs here in the US.

They're going to want the whole thing, else they'll probably do something stupid like:

Customer Claim error with screen - Problem: Missing Hard Drive.

***SENDING BACK WITHOUT FIXING IT MWAHAHAHAHA***

It happened to me with my computer, I formatted the drive and they said that the problem was a lack of OS >_< stupid repair people...

Why dont you strongly emphasize to the customer rep NOT to wipe out your harddrive? They might make a note of it and HP might actually be compitent enough not to.

Its not a hardware or a software problem, nothing is exactly broken. I dont see the point of clearing the HD

To be on the safe side, backup your stuff. I wouldnt trust HP

I have a similar problem with my nw8440. I see a cluster of "Dirt spots" near the left center edge of the screen, but the dirt is IN THE SCREEN. I've also noticed sever other isolated spots throughout the screen. I'll probably end up getting it fixed.
