i just wondered how much better these 2 models are than the G70-111EM and WHY ?

The other G70 has an nVidia graphics card and Blu-Ray player. The Blu-Ray is nice, but its up to you to determine if you really want it. The nVidia graphics card is not really necessary, as you'll only want a higher-than-Intel GPU if you play games, which the 9200M won't be good enough for anyway (therefore making it essentially a battery-drainer).
The dv7 on the other hand is in a completely different league. It has a processor with lower power consumption that is also newer, though it is the same speed and roughly the same raw power. It also has the rather useless nVIDIA card, but it also has 4GB of RAM instead of 3 (though you will be limited by the 32-bit version of Vista to just over 3.5GB of useable RAM). The biggest difference though is the laptop itself, which is a completely different design and build quality. The G70 is based on lower end Compaq laptops, thus the design and build quality is a little lower than the dv7. The dv7 also has an extra USB port, Firewire, and eSATA (combo with the 4th USB), which are nice ports and features to have. I would say the dv7 is the overall best choice depending on price.
The main difference between the two G70 models in the Blu-Ray drive, and it's up to you to decide if you really need (or want) that. -
thanks Paul, that was most helpful, i just have to find somewhere that has the stock of the higher end HP, they are all out at Comet

paul, i disagree with your statement on the 9200m gs. i have one, and although its not anywere near great, i can still play CoD4 with 35fps with some low settings, or 10-20 (average 12-17) with nearly everything maxxed, only removing shadows and soften smoke edges, and having model and water detail set to low.
i generally go for normal settings, with a step down on the res to 1024x7xx something. that way i get a nice consistant 25-30 fps with fps capped at 34. if i did some in console tuning i could probably get 25fps maxxed with very little loss of detail. probably will do at some point soon.
as for battery, i got 11 hours of music from it with it set to power save. (i had uni coursework due lol) it runs cool too, currently running at 25*C. (my CPUs are running at 14*C. lol!)Attached Files:
