I am thinking about it. However, my main reason on getting it would be if there is some feature that only Vista computers can do with an Xbox 360. Maybe holding storage for example.

Oh yeah, I scanned my dv5000z and I can get Vista Home Premium.

As someone also wanting to upgrade to Vista, I'm curious as to whether the XP drivers work with Vista and if there are any incompatabilities.

I've had Vista installed on my DV8135NR a couple of weeks ago. Everything worked except for the multimedia card reader (SD card, memory stick, etc) and the modem, which I don't use much. I haven't checked to see if drivers are available for these now.

The sound drivers were not installed immediately and but Vista downloaded from them Microsoft.

I've since reverted back to XP for the time being since there were some incompatibilities with some of the software I like to use, but hardware wise, it ran fine.

I have been playing with windows VISTA RTM (business ed) for a few weeks now.

    A few tips:

If you have less than 1gb of memory, don't bother. Your HDD will never stop.
If you are concerned about 3D performance? Wait a few month for better drivers.
Vista seems to use about 50% more sapce than XP.
Be ready to revert back to XP if you can't find drivers for everything. Not just your hardware but printers, scanners, ect..
Not all software works right in vista (ie some games mostly starforce protected ones)
