I ordered my ZV6000 on April 14th and haven't received my order, nor has my CC been charged. Can other who purchased from costco provide same info?
Has your card been charged?
Have you received the package?
-
i ordered mine on 4/8 and nothing has changed, still in the processing status [
!]
-
same thign with me. ordered on the 14th. basically, i think you'll be getting it within a week or two. im very close to canceling right now, just need to find another option.
-
Check and see if your credit card has been charged.
-
nothing charged[
]
-
guys, it's because HP hasn't shipped the next batch from china yet. Basically if you order one right now you'll still get it in the same time; pathetic huh?
-
Hey guys...I ordered mine on the 17th of April, and it's showing the same thing, "in process"[
!]. It did say it will take 4-6 weeks, so it was just wishful thinking we'll actually get it within 3-4 weeks. Take that 4-6 weeks to heart, because that's how long it will take. Look at the bright side. Those lucky enough to have ordered from Costco will have about 5 months to play with it and return it with no obligation (6 months from the date of purchase). I've seen posts that say games like Doom 3, and Half-Life 2 are practically unplayable in the ZV6000 despite the dedicated 128mb graphics card. And also the dead pixel issues, which makes the Costco deal that much sweeter. Look at it this way...if something better comes along in 5 months all we have to do is make a bee line to our local Costco, get our money back and smile all the way to a better laptop!!![
]
-
they've questioned me before for returning too many PCs. [
]unofrtunately they were all bad or else i would have kept them.
-
Just out of curiosity, how many have u returned?
-
I have returned three of them(they all were defective) they are pretty good about it i try diffrent costcos i got about 4 witih a 30 mile radius
-
It's nice that you have that many Costcos nearby. But I don't think you have to go out of your way just to return anything under their own policy. If a Costco CSR is giving you a hard time that's because he's a dickhead. Just ask to speak to another CSR or his supervisor. I've even heard of people returning (and exchanging) all-in-one printers just because it ran out of ink!!! Of course that's just hear-say[
].
-
no, it's true. I've SEEN someone get their developed pictures refunded because they didn't like the pictures they took. The only reason costco was suspicious of me returning computers is b/c i had it for about 5 months, but that's when it started have problems. I haven't canceled my order, although i might after i actually get it. We'll see what it can handle as far as games when i get it.
-
Don't abuse the Costco computer return policy. If enough people do that, the policy will get worse.
I'm a longtime Costco shopper and I, too, have returned products after several months or even a couple years because they failed. With a receipt, I got a cash refund in every case.
Never returned a computer, though. Did have someone in front of me at the returns desk who was returning a Sony Vaio desktop on the last day of the 6-month period. The manager was brought over and chewed out the guy because he had done this (return computer on the last eligible day) before. She warned him that he would not be allowed to buy computers from Costco any more if he tried this again. I could tell the guy knew exactly what he was doing - essentially, using a Costco computer for 6 months free of charge.
If you have had legitimate problems with 3 computers, I'm not saying you were doing the same thing as this guy. But word seems to have spread about Costco's great return policy and it is disappointing to hear people say, 'if something better comes along within 6 months, just return it for a refund and get the better/cheaper model instead.'
Costco incurs costs when customers return big-ticket items. I hope people realize that the more often laptops are returned, the more likely it is that Costco will tighten up its return policy in the future. -

Costco notebooks should be arriving soon. Post as you get them please!
And no, im not abusing costco return policy. If there's something wrong with my notebook, i'm returning it. otherwise i dont have an incentive to purchase from them. -
I'm pretty sure it can't dlayer burn, so plan on returning it. only now can you customize it with dlayer. personally, i dont htink its a big deal, are you really going to go out and buy expensive dvd-r? the 4gb dvd's are more practical for me. besides, there are many progs to shrink size and forfeit very little quality. you didn't actually buy it thinking it came with dlayer, did you??
-
Precisely, there isn't any real need for DL, even w/out regard to the ridiculous cost concession.
There are several quality settings when burning media to the standard 4.7gb discs, just like vhs sp/ep/slp/etc. Even if u are not burning video, you can always just burn data to 2 seperate discs, much cheaper & not really any less convenient. Just my 2cents

As far as I know, computers are the ONLY type of product on which Costco places a maximum return period. Everything else is basically forever.
-
Has anyone really recieved their Costco notebook? besides some random person from a different forum? If people are getting their notebooks from OD and HP then it should be the same for costco. at first i though they just ship a whole bunch bulk at one time but hp said in an email that they ship them as they're completed. this doesn't make sense to me considering that people from Costco purchased them before OD and STILL haven't recieved them....
-
Based on my conversation with a Costco.com CSR I believe that the pre-configured models will shipped to a Costco warehouse on the west-coast then Costco will ship to us. I don't understand why this is taking sooo long though and i'm finding this very annoying.
-
I just got off the phone with the Costco.com CSR and according to her it will probably take all of 6 weeks to deliver
Perfecting ending to a crappy day. I ordered on the last day of the promo so thats another 3 weeks for me. -
Off topic, but in regards to Costco's return policy--Their cell phone sales representative said that their phones have a "lifetime warranty--If at any time you have a problem with the phone, you can return it anytime you want after however many years it breaks."
-
Bluedevils, your point is well taken. Circuit City and Bestbuy (still my favorites for my high-tech hunger) in recent years reduced their return timeframe from 30 to 14 days for computers, camcorders, etc. to combat the abuse you speak of. But can anyone here honestly say that he will keep his ZV6000 if 5 months from now HP in all its wisdom decide to replace the highly neutered ATI 128mb graphics card with a much better one?
That 8 cell battery may not be all that significant because this machine is essentially a desktop replacement. I have a ZV5220US that I bought last August. I tried to tote this humonguous thing around the first few weeks I had it including using it as a DVD player in my car. I learned the hard way that this thing is not all that portable, so battery life is really a moot point. I did, however, buy an extra 12 cell for the ZV5220 (for only $100) which I hope will work with the ZV6000. If anyone know otherwise please let me know.
Have patience my young Padawans (or not so young)[]. Even if we end up waiting the whole 6 weeks, we're getting a better deal overall (including the much talked-about return policy). We get Windows XP Pro which I understand if more secure and more stable than the Home version, and a high-speed 80GB HD (5400 rpm) which should help shave the 90 second boot time I get now with my ZV5220's 60GB 4200 rpm hard drive (yes, I've already disabled all non-essential programs from loading). And I'm still holding out hope that Boom is incorrect about the DL capability of this machine. I know I've said that I'll probably never use it, but it's nice to know that I can[^].

Don't assume that ALL Office Depot orders are coming in faster than ALL Costco orders. I ordered 2 zv6000s on 4/16 from Office Depot and have no order updates at all. Still 'approved' status. I emailed Tech Depot for an update early this morning and have not heard anything as of late Tues evening.
You Costco buyers just be glad your credit cards have not been charged. My credit card bill is now due this week, and I still don't even have these 2 laptops.
It's getting to the point where I expect some sort of compensation (coupons, gift cards, discounts, even a small good-faith gesture) from Office Depot. -

Did she say why it takes so much longer than ordering from anywhere else? And do you know if there is a difference between the shipping times of the pre-configured one and the customizable one?
Where'd you find that number? I might have to put some pressure on 'em.
<hr height='1' noshade id='quote'></font id='quote'></blockquote id='quote'>
I didn't think of asking those questions but if you call them up, please post their replies here (it will something along the lines of "we had an overwhelming response"). Their number is 1-800-955-2292 and I might cancel tonight when I get home, the wait is killing me.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

Hmmm... Processor shortage. Maybe it finally is the end of the 130nm Newcastle. Please run CPU-z when you receive yours and report what it says. Thanks!
-
After 3.5wks I cancelled the COSTCO order and put an order through DELL on the 9th. It shipped the 12th and UPS says i'll have it the 16th. That's all in 1wk. The $50 does help, especially since it helps cover the rebate. All in all i'm still happy with COSTCO services, but a 6wk wait time.... WOW!

I'm impressed to see Costco issue a $50 credit, especially since it appears they did so without any complaining/requesting from the customer?
Planning to head to Office Depot today to see if they will do anything for me. Ordered on 4/16 and still no status update on the web.
-
I sent an email asking for a more accurate ship date and I hinted at cancelling my order just because the CSRs on the phone would not divulge a likely ship date. I hope this will encourage them to be more honest about the status of our orders.
-
I got bupkis for a reply. She basically quoted the line on the webpage when I ordered it.
Anyone have better luck? -
Got this from Costco today-

The HPzv600 was backordered due to high demand and a parts shortage. We
plan to have all remaining orders shipped out this week. I do apologize
for the inconvenience.
