    I'm going to solder a new connector to a charger so it will fit my nx9420.

    Can someone with a 18.5 V charger (7.4 mm plug, thick like a pencil) please tell me which is +?

    Since I don't have the original charger I can't do it.

    The terminal polarity should be indicated on your power brick... it looks like this:

    In that example, the inner pin is positive, the outer contact is negative...

    EDIT: Oops.. you don't have the original power brick... my brick is from a DV7... so dunno if it's the same as the Elitebooks...

    Nope, they don't have a 90 W charger, I prefer buying one in EU and I already got one.
