Applying AS5 in dv9700t...

Hey guys,

I wanted to know if anybody has successfully applied AS5 to their HP dv9700t/9500t/9000t on CPU and GPU.

I was looking at the repair and the maintenance guide and it show like six site where the thermal paste is suppose to go each time the heat sink and fan assembly is removed. So I wanted to know if any of you have/had successfully applied AS5 to the CPU and GPU.

If you did then what did you do about the other places with the thermal paste on them... did u put AS5 on there too? Please let me know. I know how to open and all that. But I just want to make sure that I dont end up applying AS5 on something that I am not suppose to.

Because last weekend I had worked on my friends laptop and ended up frying the motherboard cuz I put AS5 everywhere there was thermal paste on sink. So I got a new motherboard and ended up putting AS5 just on the processor.

So what would I need once I am done opening the whole heat sink and fan assembly. Do I need any thermal pads or anything that needs replacement? please let me know. Thank You.

Update:

I ended up opening the laptop and applying AS5 on the CPU and GPU and now there is a lot of difference on temperature before I was running at about 41 degree Celsius on CPU and about 65 degree Celsius GPU... and now it is 28-30 degree Celsius and 49-50 degree Celsius GPU I am guess I will wait for couple days and see if the temperature drops a bit more on either of them... but that is still a 10 degree drop in the temperature and I am happy with it...
