    Guys,

    I am quite anxious with the pricing of our new dual-core Turion price. Suggesting that Hp still 'confer' us with a relatively low-than-what-we-expect GPU in this next line, how much do we appraise the price for this new lappy?

    the dual core Centrino is not pretty affordable, but I would bet it would be around $600...

    ?? any other opinions, I'd like to hear our experts opinion

    Cheer =)

    I would expect the Turion X2's to be priced slightly below the Core Duo's. The same way as the Turions were priced when they were released. The rest of the component proces should be the same or slightly less. Assuming HP keeps the same graphics card motherboard and other options. The memory prices should be lower as well since DDR2 is currently cheaper to manufacture than DDR.

    ..so what do we get now???

    Please shed us some lights =)

    We'll know May 9th... probably.

    I'd forget about any "price wars" though, bleatings of semiconductor "analysts" notwithstanding. Intel is in no position to launch one (AMD controls the high ground) and AMD is struggling to meet growing demand. The X2 will likely be cheaper than the Core Duo, if only because it lacks Intel's Centrino marketing tax, but it's a much better CPU than the Duo and AMD knows it.
