    Hi,
I have decided to buy an HP Pavilion dv6.i dont know the exact model no. but here's the configuration...
    T6600 processor, 1GB ATI 4650 graphics card, 4gb DDr3 RAM, 500gb SATA, 15.6" display.
I had earlier decided on the dell studio 15 but i found the hp with better config.
    Is it a wise choice?
Please reply...i am in a hurry...

I don't know who told you that the DV6 has DDR3 ram but I think they were mistaken. I wouldn't say that the DV6 would be any better or worse than any other HP out there (aside from the units effected by the Nvidia defect).

I also wanted to add, apparently the new ATI chips run pretty cool compared to the Nvidias (I.E the 9600GT)

Seems like a more powerful version of my notebook, in which case I would definitely recommend it.

Try running Real Temp and see if your temps agree with what your using now.
I know with my P7450 i had to alter TJMAX settings from 100 to 90 in HWMonitor/Everest to get it to read temps correctly......Real temp was one program that read correct straight away.(10degC lower)
