I have an hp envy 14 i5-460 with 5650 ATI switchable graphics.....I am currently running AMD version 8.741.1.1 driver and the Intel version 8.15.10.2141
driver. Until today I have never had an issues with playing games at all. I was able to play just about any game out there on medium settings with no issues. Today I tried to play NFS undercover which I never had any issues with it previously. Now when I try to play the game I get cars with no tires, crazy frame tearing, shapes that are distorted or missing. Now this would have been fine except it is happening to every game I play. When I run off the Intel graphics its fine just have to use crazy low settings. But when I try and play say witcher 2 all hell breaks lose. Now I have been trying to figure out what drivers I should update to or if I should even do that. In my experience once you start messing around with something your unsure of sometimes you tend to make it worse. How do you know which version to update to? I tried to re-install the 8.741.11 or sp49532 and still having the same problems. Any suggestions before I go blindly into the abyss.

You should try updating your drivers to the latest version that HP currently provides. Uninstall your current graphics drivers and then download and install the updated drivers using the following setup package.

    Included versions (components):
    • 8.771.1.4000 (AMD Graphics)
    • 8.15.10.2189 (Intel Switchable Graphics)
    • 7.12.0.7706 (HDMI Audio)

Even though the release notes indicate that it is for the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370; the INF file inside of the extracted setup package indicates that the ENVY 14 version of the 5650 is also supported.

Give it a go - if the driver is not compatible, the setup package will simply refuse to install it.
