HP has a 30 day price guarantee! The DV9500 has dropped about $250 in the last month. Be sure to check your original invoice and then go to HP and run through the config tool again. If there is a price difference call 1-888-999-4747 and hit 4.

Just tried this on my dv2500t and worked as well. My order was 6/7/07 at 11:40 EST. I made it by 4 hours lol. Got $128 refunded.

I just called and they said it was like 350 dollars minus the recovery disc which they no longer off as an option. They said it was a high amount and would have to go to the manegement then she said she would have to call me back once they cleared everything up.

I'm on hold for the next customer service rep. I hope it works for EPP purchases too. I just checked the EPP store and mine (as configured) dropped $174.

Thank you deputy963! I called a short while ago and was given the credit. It was only a $29 difference but why not have that amount deducted from the balance on my HP credit card? Another one of our fine forum members asked about their June 6 purchase date; my 9500 was purchased on June 6th also.

I am on the phone with them now about an HPdv9500t that I received about a week ago . . . they are saying that it will take 5-7 days to take the price match amount off of my credit card . . . does that sound right to anybody?

Now they are saying that they will take the amount off my credit card in 5-7 business days, but that they can not email me to confirm it . . . because they do not have access to e-mail?
I have talked with sales people in the past who have often forgotten to put notes on my order.
The hp rep said also that they can not refund the tax differenceon the lwer price match from the higher price paid.
Insight, anyone? -

rhetor, I never thought to ask about the adjustment for tax but then my refunded amount was only $29. About a $2 difference. Yes, I spoke to someone in India too. Thankfully the accent was not so strong to cause difficulty in understanding what they were saying. They never mentioned that it would take 5 - 7 business days to take the amount off the credit card. Maybe since I used the HP credit line the week delay wasn't the same? I was given an reference number and will keep my eye on the next billing statement.

Yes, initially they told me they couldn't do anything but I insisted reminding them about the two weeks my computer sat in customs. I ordered on June 8th and received on June 26th. The gentleman was very responsive once I started complaining about things, the webcam not functioning sporadically, and how tech support could not offer anything other than we are working to resolve the matter.
Also please note that when comparing prices do not include any warranties or service plans purchased. These are not included in the matching as it is a separate item. The guy initially gave me a credit of $98 and I called back for a confirmation number and realized the credit was incorrect and the gentleman gave me the total refund that was due. -

I called the number you gave and picked option 1 and got no help--the guy wanted me to fax my invoice and a new custom order at the lower price and they would get back to me some day. Forget that! I called the same number again and pressed option 4 and got the price match by talking to a real person!

You heard about it because it's right on their website under terms and conditions. It's not a secret -
Make sure that you call them back after 10 minutes and get the case number for your price match. I called them on 11 July . . . promised to do price match and return $262 to my credit card. I called today and they did not have it on record! I am 2 days away from losing the price match. The CSR told me to call back 10 minutes later to make sure it went theough . . . I called back . . . and it went through this time.

I didn't, but now I have. It doesn't hurt to call them. I wouldn't point out that you're in the UK. Just tell them there is a price difference and you are requesting a refund of the difference.

Interestingly, their UK sales team is actually based just outside my home town of Glasgow, and has been for some time. Nice try, though! Just another case of American consumers getting a better deal and better service than UK customers... grrr...
I bought my computer over the phone but am still awaiting delivery... ordered it on the 11th July. Will wait a few weeks before chasing this up with them. Got some great discounts by buying over the phone - and got to buy the notebook way before they've even begun advertising its availability. -
deputy963 your the man i just called them 8:22 eastern time i spoke to an American rep. they priced it out and we agreed on the same price he transfered me to a manager she did the same and gave me a confirmation code both American i was done in 15 minutes thanks man you just saved me $140 on my dv2500t they said it will be transfered back within 3-5 business days
