I own a pair of beats AE2 headphones, and I listen to quite a bit of music on my laptop. I've never had a problem with anything audio in the headphones or the laptop, but just today, I tried to plug in my headphones, but the computer isn't recognizing them as being plugged in.

When I push it in, it doesn't make the "click" noise that it usually does, and when I play music, it goes through the main speaker. If I slightly pull the jack out, I can hear the music slightly, but the quality is awful and it doesn't sit. As i push it in all the way again, it plays through the speakers. It isn't the audio jack on my headphones problem, for it still works perfectly fine with my iPhone. The headphones aren't that old either, I just picked them up about a month ago.

Anyone have similar problems? Is it something to do hardware wise? Any help would be appreciated.

    Try this:

Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound
Then disable "Communications Headphones." Try your headphones after doing this.
