Hey all those who are reading, It's Christmas night as I post this and this also happens to be my first, well anyway on to the problem at hand.
I just purchased the HP dv2660se aka the Verve. I grew tired of all the adjusting I had to do with Vista, so I decided to switch back to XP. I set up all my drivers and they all work fine, except my Conexant HD audio drivers. whenever I come back from hibernation or standby they make a distinct lag.Whenever I start looking at things related to the drivers it start to lag a little (Looking at the device manager, checking it in everest, sound hardware in the control panel) This doesn't happen on my desktop. The lag it makes reminds of what happens when you get a high dpc latency, I checked that and for the most part it wasn't the case, except for some weird times, where my audio would lag and if I turn on the checker it works fine. Now I think I've pinpointed the problem, hopefully, Its either down to the old drivers (xp uses 3.30 something while vista's is at 4.18) or my clocked down cpu (the multiplier is at 6 instead of 9 which I think is something due with the core 2 trying to save power can anyone tell me if thats the case also?) I had this problem with this Toshiba which I sent back for the verve, except the Toshiba had the audio lag much much worse. So can anyone help me with this problem? Has it happen to anyone? Thanks.
p.s. Ive tried all the different kinds of drivers from trying to use vista's to using realteks HD (because I read they worked somehow, wasn't the case for me) and AC97 and Conenxant AC-link drivers everything pretty much, driver wise.

I know XP and Vista have been known for audio lag problems. Related to drivers.
Right now it's a bigger Vista issue. Manufactures are still developing GOOD drivers for Vista.. Taking there time..
The CPU clocks down... Saves powers. Turn it off and that laptop will die quickly and likely melt after long period at full load.
Turn off all audio enhancements on the control panel. Give that a shot. -
Thanks for the tip, tried it, same issues were coming up.

Bump, I'm in dire need of assistant, but I'm guessing all hope is lost and Ill have to run back to vista with my tail between my legs. I reeeally dont want to have to do that.
