    Hey guys,

I just recently started playing around with the TV tuner on my HDX18. I'm using the digital antenna for the cable source, and the Mediasmart TV software. While I'm recording a show, it plays fine live. But when I play it back, the audio starts getting further and further behind, the longer the show plays. I recorded House the other night, and by the end of the episode, the audio was several seconds behind the video.

This seems to happen on any channel I record. Any ideas about what is going on here? I also wanted to see if anyone knew why my local CBS station (WJZ Baltimore) is the only channel that doesn't display in the list.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Any thoughts guys? I searched online and found that a few others are having the same problem. They're using different tuners in each case, but all are having issues with MediaSmart TV -- the audio is losing sync over the course of a recorded program. I have reinstalled the latest drivers, and I don't think there's a whole lot I can do to update the BIOS.

Right now the recording feature is completely useless to me, so I'm really hoping someone can shed some light on it!

    Thanks again. :)

From what I've seen it is an issue with the TV software, perhaps a transcoding issue that needs tweaking. Don't know any other solutions, if there is no upgrade avail and you have latest drivers for the HW.

Thanks RW... yeah it's gotta be the software, which is so disappointing. I even called HP and they couldn't tell me anything. I ended up using Windows Media Center, which is working flawlessly. It even has a better guide and recording options, so I will stick with this until a fix is found.

It's simply lame coding. Given that HP's software is developed by Cyberlink, i'm not surprised. I have lots of *bleeps* to say about their PowerDirector video editing software.
