    Hey folks,

My dv2000t just arrived (more later), and I'm clearing bloatware. I deleted the AOL desktop icons, but can't find any AOL stuff pre-installed under programs. Am I lucky enough that there was none, or am I missing something?

So you checked under Add/Remove Programs and there was no AOL software?

When I ordered my dv8000t, the same thing happened to me. I did the same thing as you, and I was unable to find AOL under programs. I didn't end up doing anything about it besides deleting the desktop icons. If you find out how to do it, please post, because my new computer is on the way and I'd like to delete it too! Thanks!

If its not there, check program files, or somewhere on ur c drive and make sure u select to show hidden files. If nothing is there still, then there is nothing to uninstall because it has to be installed somewhere, it cant be on ur computer working w/o being in some directory.

There may not be any other AOL programs on your laptop. AOL is in the process of changing their way of doing things, becoming more like Yahoo and Google, so the bloatware that they have traditionally been paying for companies to put on their computers may be coming to an end.

AOL is not installed on the laptop, but the installation files are located in a folder in C :program Files, you can delete those folders safely. Look for the "Easy Internet Signup" or something like that in Add/Remove programs.
