I think I'm out of luck, I tried some googling but nothing turned up, so I flash camoli's BIOS Mod for my dv6-6135dx and then I installed a Fresh copy of Windows 7, After a few restarts the computer just started flashing the caps lock key and then a blank screen with the " - " flashing in the top left corner, I'd really hate to have to hear from one of you guys that this laptop is now dead, please Help me I just picked this badboy up and It's driving me nuts that I can't fix it.

Maybe.... you can try reflashing the bios with the bios you just left behind before the mod?
I've been able to force a flash before but have NO experience specific to your situation.

How can I reflash? I'm reading some places people have been able to do it but they don't explain it clearly enough for me to follow it, I put two ".bin" files on the root of a spare usb with nothing else and plugged it in sometime during the constant reboots I can see the green light on the USB flashing indicating that the computer is accessing it I'm not sure if that's relevant or not but any help would be greatly appreciated...I'm losing my mind here...

I was able to find something that explained it better, but still have yet to recreate the aforesaid procedure. Like I said I see the usb light flashing but I don't think anythings happening

    1. Remove AC/battery and hold power on for 30+sec
    doesnt work ---? move down
    2. Remove Cmos battery/AC/battery and wait for 20-30 sec
    doesnt work ---? move down
    3. Use a USB flash drive to do a bios flash
Do you still have your HP_TOOLS files? On you HDD maybe? retrieve the file and put them on a USB flash drives. (If you dont, leave a email via
pm or any mean, I would just send it to you )
    a.format to FAT32/Default
    b. name the flash drive HP_TOOLS
    c. put the folder in the flash drive
d, Plug it in , turn it on and pray (It always works , just wait....)

I have HP_Tools renamed to HP_Talls and I'd have to swap out HDD's to get the files it'd save me time if you could just send it to me, the usb is FAT32 so I'll give your way a go and hope for the best.

Mods Close this thread, Problem solved...Well for now :/ If anyone ever had problems with the BIOS Simply take out the CMOS Battery (Thanks baiii should have tried that in the first place just didn't realize the CMOS battery was so out in the wild :). ) after taking it out turn on your computer and you should be greeted with beautiful codes :), after such your computer will boot up as normal.

Theres an article in this forum on the dv6z owners lounge that removing the CMOS battery and then putting it back resolves exactly the problem you are describing
