Hi all,
I'm facing a real problem since I tried to flash my BIOS with a recent version and it freezed during the flashing process... I don't know how corrupted is my BIOS but it seems that it has been erased but no replaced...
When starting up the computer, leds are switched on but screen is black. It doesn't load anything of course.
I have found several procedure describing how to restore the BIOS using USB flash drive such as the ones described in the following threads:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...yde-bios-recovery-using-usb-thumbdrive-4.html
http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/284686-aspire-5315-bios-recovery-using-usb-thumbdrive.html
But it seems that the filename I use is invalid.
Based on what is written in these threads, I should define the file name function of the mother board reference. References of DV5 1010EF I found are :
DV5-1010 Series 482870-001 INTEL laptop Motherboard
Intel PM45 chipset
So I tried PM45.FD and PM45x32.FD but unsucessfully.
I try to use the latest version
WinFlash pour le BIOS système des ordinateurs portables HP à processeurs Intel Ordinateur portable de loisirs HP Pavilion dv5-1010ef - Assistance Technique HP (France - Français)
I tried as well the earlier version I had (F09) but unsuccessfully. I tried to rename files using 3600, 3602, 3603 and even all possibilities between 3000 and 3999 with BIN and ROM extensions. Unsuccessfully ! I tried to use the original name as given by the downloaded patch. Unsuccesfull as well.
As the computer seems to correctly try to load files on the USB Flash drive (light is on and flashing), I really think the file name is invalid.
Please help.
