Last time HP health checker ran, it came up info on this:

» WinFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS (for Notebooks with Intel Processors)
    11-2008 F.11 A » Version: 4.52M

Is this actually a BIOS update? or a program to monitor the BIOS, or something...

If this is a BIOS update, and a crucial one at that, to fix heating issues or something, could anyone point me to a guide that advises on a SAFE way of updating?

I don't want to screw anything up...

You should go to the hp website www.hp.com, into the support site and enter your laptop number.

That is the best place where you could find the latest updated drivers and the information about the fixes.
