I downloaded F.5A BIOS from hp and went through the steps to update my dv9540us, it did the steps and shut down by itself so I thought it had completed. I then plugged in a flash drive and turned it on, it then beeps and won't show a thing on the screen now. Is there a way to fix it?

Even without the flash drive, does nothing show up at all? Not even the HP logo? If so, that's pretty bad - it's probably bricked. I've heard that there are flashers out there, but honestly, you'd be better off shipping it to HP if it's under warranty.

No it doesn't show anything, with or without the flash drive. With flash drive it beeps once and then just sit there, without flash it keeps on beeping, one long and two short. This laptop is about 4 to 5 years old so I'm out of luck.

Yeah, I'd agree given the circumstances in which it broke. Don't trash it yet, though, since I've heard that you can make a "recovery" usb drive and flash it back. I have no idea how that would work, though, with a bricked BIOS/UEFI.
