I came across a few threads about HP removing recently released BIOS updates for several notebook models from their support site within the last few days. In one case, it is subsitituted with a more recent one (but the original one is completely erased from their record). This is now happened to the new DV4000 today. Both the recently released F.12A and the original F.03 for the new DV4000 are now gone. The one left is for the original release DV4000. The F12A added support to QuickPlay2.0. I have downloaded the F.12A and saved but I did not keep a copy of the F.03 as it is already running in my laptop. Anyone knows what is going on with HP?

HP rarely knows what is going on with HP. Give it a few days they will probably re-appear.

For those who has a DV4000 CTO with x700 GPU, you may find the missing files in the DV4200 CTO download page. I found both the F.12A and F.03 WinFlash there. Interestingly, the DV4200 series (that has the option for x700) is still called DV4000 here in the US. It is not clear whether the current DV4000 CTO has changed hardware again as x700 is no longer available as an option and QuickPlay 2.0 is now included.

They pulled the f.23 bios for the v2000z's as well and rolled back to the f.22. Not sure why.

This is getting really interesting. I looks like some sort of massive BIOS recall.
