I know on HPs website that the BIOS Version 2B is for the DV9200 with the intel CPU but I was wondering since the systems are pretty much identical will this or has anyone tried this version in the DV9000. Thanks for your time.

You should be fine--for one its a 9000 series and you also have an intel processor!! My system is stated as a DV9000 series too.....I just did the Bios update and its great--no problems for me

Just wanted to make sure because of the fact if you look under just DV9000 the last BIOS update was F.29. Didnt wanna try and put 2B on it from the DV9200 if it was gonna mess things up. Its no longer under warranty and would suck if my system died.

You should only update your BIOS to one that's listed on the exact page for your system. Go to HP's site and search for your exact model number. If it doesn't work your system will be a brick, and a bad BIOS flash is not covered under warranty. Unless there's some huge problem you're seeing that is fixed by the new BIOS, don't update.
