I am purchasing an HP DV 1000 for my daughter to take to College. Anyone have a recommendation about the Brightscreen Option? Thanks.

Boy, for my eyes, brightview was the only way to go.
They say if you're using it under bright lights that you get extra glare, but I'm not usually in those conditions.
I would think that even a little glare is worth the clarity of it though. For my preferences anyhow.

I upgraded my HP ZV6000 to brightscreen for $25 more and it worths it. You may get glare sometimes but the rest of the time you'll enjoy the screen. Go for it.

It is a matter of personal preference. Have you asked her what she prefers? You should see the differences for yourself.

I had a DV1000 with Brighview and the contrast and color was excellent. I currently have another computer without it and I don't miss Brightview.
