Graphics driver crashed. Not necessarily hardware issue (except it's AMD/ATI hardware)
-
Which drivers are you using HP AMD drivers or AMD drivers??
If gotten from windows update, it still AMD drivers.
Other than that. Simply crashedas KLF said.
-
Were you using Intel or the HD6770 GPU at the time of crash?
-
-
So...eh?
D'you try again? Will you. This is not great news. What could have caused this?
If I was you I would try to update drivers I guess. And StarCraft is legit and updated? -
I've been getting bsod and hard crashes pretty frequently and I am pretty sure it has something to do with the ati graphics since I can't reproduce the crashes with the integrated graphics. I recently updated my drivers again and I haven't had any problems so far. Hopefully it'll stay that way. Knock on wood

Try still sticking with your driver (8.810.4.1000) for a bit and see if it is reproducible.
AMD drivers do BSOD but just rarely happens. As much as Nvidia's too.

In my experience, I have yet to have an intel integrated BSOD on me. -

When you get yours,
Use the HP drivers for now. If you feel like it, you can install AMD official drivers but you do so with some risk. Noticed different results from others. Some people work with no problems, and others with .....
The reason why you guys can see the update from windows update, is due to the design plan for your model to allow AMD Dynamic Switchable if they come out. (AMD's Optimus) Which would allow you to independently install AMD and Intel drivers separately and without dependency with HP for them. -
pretty discouraging news for sure. I might be looking elsewhere like the Dell xps 17 once the hp ships and I return it(maybe).

Just as an update, this is reproducable after using YouTube for an extensive amount if time, if that means anything.
-
Yep. If you leave a youtube video paused for hours, then play it again. It greens out - everything freezes - then you get the BSOD.
I'm 100% sure this is a driver issue. -
So...when I get mine I should only update with HP drivers. Or should I wait until HP fixes their switchable driver issue first?
-
I used to get the BSOD when I used HP's full-blown OEM image on my dv6. Same error listed as well. It rendered my ability to play blu-ray movies useless. It also denied me updating the Catalyst drivers. Though, by some miracle, I switched over to using the MSI and everything started working. Blu-ray disks play fine, Catalyst driver package updates well and no BSOD's as of yet.
BSOD Already... Caused by graphics?
