Hello! I am using HP Pavillion dm3-1132tx. I managed to unlock my bios's advanced and power settings and also the Display Mode setting under the "System Configuration".

My objective is to disable the Nvidia Hybrid Graphics, disabling the onboard Intel graphics and use only the Nvidia G105M.

So yeah as I said, I managed to unlock my Display Mode and edit to dGPU but my screen backlight doesn't work! It is not switching on and I have to use my own torchlight to see whats on the screen. I checked the Device Manager the Intel graphic is really disabled and only G105M could be found. So yeah I managed to get what I wanted except for the screen backlight problem and so anyone has any idea on how to fix it?

You do know the switchable graphics were made for a reason and what you did most likely caused some kinda after effect to it. I have switchable graphics on mine and leaving it as it is gives me no problem using it. If your thinking of gaming with that laptop forget it it most likely doesn't have the graphics power to do demanding games.

Nah I wasn't thinking of gaming on it. It is just the Nvidia Hybrid Graphics lacks of Windows 8 support. When I try installing Windows 8, it works but have minor hiccups such as wallpaper turns black, brightness control refuse to work and the lockscreen sometimes just appear blank.

By disabling the Intel graphics (Nvidia Hybrid Graphics), I can directly use the latest driver from the Nvidia website instead of the one my OEM provides, which is more stable

Yeah I know its an after affect for what I have done, just trying to ask and see if there is any solutions to it.
