Just pulled the trigger on a new Envy 15 despite all my problems I had with it (the extra side buttons, no backlit keyboard, the size etc.) I just couldn't pass up the deal I got. (i7 720, 6GB ram, 500gb 7200rpm, reg+extended battery, external dvd, 1920x1080 Ultra Brightview for 1200shipped!?!?) Anyways, I remember reading somewhere on these forums about people modding to add backlighting to the keyboard, was this true? I've tried a bit of googling but it's hard to find the right search terms to use. I'm fairly tech savvy and I'm confident I could do it myself so if someone can point me in the right direction it'd be much appreciated.

Also, from looking at benchmarks between the Ati 4830 and 5830 it looks like the 5830 is supposed to be faster, but they end up about the same? In fact I saw one 3dmark 06 benchmark that had the 4830 beating it? Is this true?

The 5830 is just about the same just a bit more faster, research the forums. They did put the envy 14 and 17 with one, i wonder if they did it now, they should really consider it, but its going to be difficult to change it with these designs of these machines.
