Please post recommendations or discussion regarding bags, cases, or sleeves for your new love.

HP ENVY 14 notebook Dimensions (Thank you user blizard.wizard)

    Without Slice : 14" W x 9.3" L x 1.1" D

    With Slice : 14" W x 9.3" L x 1.5-1.9" D

**Please use these dimensions when considering purchasing or recommending products. Good luck and happy shopping :)**

**Edited on 10/7/10 11:44pm PST--added Screen Protectors to thread title. However, please limit discussion to just those 4 types of items for a cleaner, more happy NBR. Thanks.

EDIT (1/9/11): Brenthaven Metrolite Titanium, will prolly be great for E14. See my pix here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/7041826-post4185.html

Just received my Wenger SwissGear 15.6" Granite backpack today. It looks really nice! Bought it for around $37 at the same time I ordered the Envy 14.

I hope the quality is better than the last Wenger product I bought as the arm strap on the last one ripped!

I'm gonna share some links to some nice backpacks I found while I had that craze for the GX640. The first link however, will be a backpack that I highly recommend, as I had a laptop messenger case thing from this brand that I eventually donated to the thrift store, cuz it was too big for my 5'4" frame.

Brenthaven Metrolite Backpack: Amazon.com: Brenthaven 2252 MetroLite BackPack (Black/Red): Computer & Accessories

They also have a slightly bigger one, called the BP-XF: Metrolite BP-XF | Brenthaven.com

**I highly recommend the Brenthaven branded items, cuz I owned the Metrolite II case, which had a "CORE" protection system, which had HIGHASS density foam all over, and pvc frame thingies, which I had to remove all (they're velcroed and fastened by buttons), cuz the bag was so bulky for me. Even when I removed them, the bag still had its own "inner" foam(s) which kept the laptop secure/safe from drops on all 6-sides. Originally, the Metrolite (backpack version), was $30 on walmart, and then it jumped to $60, so I should've bought it early. Damn! Still considering it though. It, or the Dicota one.

Remember that these might be too big, cuz they were the ones I found appealing when I was shopping for the GX. Please share backpacks, sleeves, bags, etc that are relevant to the E14's dimensions, if possible.

    Good luck, and happy shopping.

EDIT: I don't know for sure if the Metrolite backpack has the foam padding stuff like the Metrolite II case, but I'm certain that everything else about it will be high quality.

I ordered this backpack when BCB was 25% so it was only $35. I love the way it looks and seems really durable. It will easily last four years of college. Tons of pockets for books and everything!
SWISSGEAR LANCER UP TO 16 IN LAPTOP | HP® Official Store

The handle is reinforced with a plastic cord..so all in all really nice design and protection. Good buy!

Also I ordered this sleeve yesterday..looks nice
The Cache: laptop protection with minimal bulk: TOM BIHN

I will update when I get the Cache..but it is very slim so it will easily slip into my backpack lol

I ended up getting a Dakine network backpack - 1900 cubic inches. No idea whether the envy 14 fits, but I think this backpack looks rather professional and minimal and I like it. I needed a new one, so...

This picture is kinda big, mods can edit it out if they like.

It was $65 at tactics.com. Usually retails for about $90.

I really like the Belkin Wave Design backpack someone posted above. If you need a smaller backpack that looks like an excellent choice.

Gonna use my LL Bean I picked up about 2 or 3 years ago. I planned in advance and got the one with the built in laptop sleeve.

Closest thing they sell now: Quad Pack: Backpacks at L.L.Bean

Until stuff starts falling outta that hole I'm just gonna use my old Jansport with the two large pockets (one closest to your back for whatever, next one up for the laptop)

That one's a big bag. It's available on ebags for like $68. Looks huge on the mannequin though.
