Really enjoy this laptop but one thing i dislike is, when trying to restore an miage of my C drive from a USB 2.0 external HDD outside of Windwos, the speed is terribly slow. this has been true no matter what program I have tried. for now, I am just creaating images to my second internal HDD but i would really like a more flexable solution involving an external HDD that might be more speedy.

Would you share with me yhour backup (as in imaging) solution that you use primarily with this laptop but i guess it could be for any recent Pavilion laptop? I would like to know what software and hardware options are working for you.

Right now I am using a program that is early in its developement but shows some promise, Shadow Protect by Storagecraft. They are some of the engineers who used to work for Powerquest. i have also used and would not be opposed to using Image for windows and Image for DOS if i could figure out the hardware that would work with them, as far as external HDDs go. Anyway, I place this post here because these SATA drivers must be disabled for me to use many of these solutions, that is for me to restore my system image from outside of Windows. Thanks for your input.
