    Hello,
I have got a nice dv5244eu notebook (so far my only problem seems to be that the aerial for the TV tuner provided doesn't work - shall test that with a normal aerial and see what's wrong, since it can't pick up any channels when I try to scan!) and I was just wondering, besides making Recovery Discs, what else do I need to backup or note down?

I have written down the numbers on the bottom of my laptop, and I have also backed up the I386 and the SWSETUP folders in the C:. Do I need to backup any other folders? I only heard about the I386 / SWSETUP folders here - HP made no mention of backing them up, so I'm worried that I may need to back up other things that I don't know about!

Can anyone put my mind at rest as to what I should back up (I mean besides MY data; I mean stuff that the computer came with)?

    Thank you.
    ESO.

Other than those 2 folders and the recovery disc you dont need to backup anything else. Actually you dont even need to keep a backup of the setup folder. It is generally recommended if you are going to install your own copy of Windows XP. But it comes handy just in case you need to install some of the software that HP includes.
