I burned the first disk and noticed some crazy patterns on the bottom of the disk. I put it in my desktop to just copy the files out and it fails every time.... is there a way to reenable the recovery -_-

Sounds like the burn was bad.

I suggest contacting HP, telling them the burn was bad, and that you want them to send you a Recovery Disk. They should do it, free of cost.
