I am very dissatisfied with HP service right now.
Long story short, I ordered a laptop from HP in late July, the day when I received it, it was broken, so I sent it back to repair the next day. I barely touched that laptop for more than a day. I originally expected the return time to be within 3 weeks or less. I later changed my mind and decided not to want it anymore, so I contacted their shopping customer service center within the 21 days return period, they issued me a RMA, and said as soon as I received the laptop from tech support, I can send it back to them, and they will issue me the money right away.
It was being repaired for 3 months (waiting for parts), and I just received it a few days ago. I just talked to a case manager, she said they won't be able to issue me back the tax since I passed the return period. That is so unfair! I barely used the laptop for a day, and it was being repaired for 3 months. During that period, I can't use the product, and I have to pay for the interest my credit card being charged for this laptop, and now she wanted to cut the tax from the refund...
This case manager said because I chose not to returning the laptop back to the shopping service center first, instead I send it to tech support, so it was my fault that it passed the return period... If I knew it would take them 3 months to fix it, I would just send it straight back to them.
I am very mad and frustrated right now, this is so unfair!!! Is there anyway I can get my full refund back? I asked this case manager if I can talk to her supervisor, she said she is the highest person I can talk to...Arggggg!!!!!! Such a good customer service they have!

I would get in touch with your Credit Card Company ASAP.

Talk to your credit card company. Make HP bleed and burn.

sue hp FTW

That's odd it only took hp a week and a half to fix my tx2500.
Didn't hp tell you that it would only take about 3 weeks to fix?
If so then you should complain ot them and say they lied and use that as your grip against them.
Threaten to report them to the BBB and see if that works.
Good luck. -
I know how you feel! I had an HP laptop for a week and problems arose. There was a huge amount of flex in the keyboard that was not apparent in my brother's laptop of the same model (tx2000), touch screen errors, and more. It took them 3 months and maybe 5 repairs (all summer, pretty much) to get it back to me, and it was still broken. After 3 months, I couldn't return it anymore, and they refused to send me a new one.
In my case as well, the case manager said no one higher up talks to customers, which really pissed me off too, since the case managers claim to have absolutely no power (almost). It took them nearly 3 weeks to even contact me, since you can't call case managers, and when I asked what took so long, they just played the blame game on other departments, and other departments blamed the case manager. Fun huh.
In the end, my case manager issued a buy-back, which ended up being only 80% of the laptop price. Strange how they refuse to replace a laptop and keep a customer but don't hesitate to lose a customer.
Like everyone else suggested, I also suggest that you talk to your credit card company, although their power may be limited due to it being so long after you bought the item already.
Bad HP: Took 3 months to repair, and won't refund tax
